Mission Statement

We, the people of St. John the Evangelist, are a community rooted in Jesus Christ, guided by the Holy Spirit, and united under the leadership of the successor of Peter, the bishop of Rome, our own bishop, and our pastor.

We are a Eucharistic people committed to the celebration of the Paschal Mystery of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus.  Our primary mission, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, is to bring everyone in to communion with God through the celebration of the Eucharist.  We are a caring and loving community in faith called to spread the Gospel by working together for God’s Kingdom.  This Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ is given to the community through religious education, evangelization, ecumenical activities and our personal witness of the presence of Christ in the world.

We are a people who care deeply for one another and who are committed to following the teachings of Jesus with the full knowledge that He is our saving Lord.  The vision we have is that we are a place where the word of Christ, rich as it is, can dwell in peace in all of us.
